National Education Day

National Education Day is always celebrated on the 11th of November every year on the birth of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, the first education Minister of Independence India. He served the country from 15th August 1947 to 2nd February 1958 After a few he passed away on 22nd February 1958 In Delhi.

In every school, college, and Educational institution, this day is celebrated as Education Day in remembrance of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. Education is a basic right of human beings, with the help of education only we can give proper knowledge to anyone. Education helps us to understand our values, our norms, our society, our surroundings, etc.

National Education Day is celebrated every year to teach us how important is education in our lives and how it should be easily accessible to every Indian. If Indians and Indians are achieving today in the world that is possible with education, without education we can’t survive in the century. 

Who was Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad 

Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad was born on 18th Novemeber 1888.His full name was Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin Ahemd Bin Khairuddin Al-Hussaini Azad. He was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress Party and a freedom fighter and educationist. He was the first Indian Education Minister after independence.

Who Set Up the IIT In India 

He was a key architect of the Education system of India. He was responsible for setting up high education councils like; the All India Council For Technical Education( AICTE) and (UGC) University Grants Commissions. Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad established the First IIT Kharagpur ( Indian Institute Of Technology ).  All we know is that this financial institution is most famous for engineering because students have to take tough exams to get Admission to it.

 He also set the Indian Council For Cultural Relations ( ICCR), Sathiya Academy, Lalit Kala Academy, Sangeet Academy, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. As he set up all these big councils that is why on his birthday education day is celebrated every year.

Post-independence he focused on several areas to spread education like rula areas, Girls’ education, and adult education as well and he set free compulsory education for ages up to 14 years. That is the reason for celebrating National Education Day every year on 11th November.
